For percussion I already own PercX and Apocalypse Elements, for choirs I have Soundiron's Requiem Light (plus bunch of solo vocals that came with the bundle during Christmas) and as a new addition Aurora Choir (insanely cheap at audioplugindeals right now). I know Ark 1 has much more in it than just strings & brass, but what I am now missing (or what I think I am missing) are just those two. Trailer Bundle costs now (until April 6th) roughly about 30% of the price of Ark 1. I'm quite much out of money so I still cannot afford Ark 1. Now that Trailer Strings and Trailer Brass (besides other libraries on that site also) are up to 50% sale, I was wondering if this could be an answer for me now. Best of luck and hang in there for a sale! It's just not going to give you the sound you're after. Personally I wouldn't buy the Symphony Collection if this is your goal. If anything hang onto your money and hope for another sale sooner than later. You'll see what I mean about how the timbre of the horns are completely different than the horn patches recorded at lower dynamics.) (Also, try the Cinebrass fff horn section if you own CB Pro.

There are other libraries that have dynamics up to fff, (Cinebrass Pro has a fff horn section.) But by the time you pieced something like this together using different libraries you'd spend much more than the cost of Ark 1. There's basically no way to emulate the timbre of an orchestra playing at their highest dynamics. Ark 2 sounds completely different despite being lower dynamics in the same room, and no amount of processing will make Ark 2 sound like Ark 1. More volume means baked in reverb that grows in intensity and color as the dynamics intensify). The brass is brassier, the strings are brighter and biting, and the tone of the room is totally different, (often underestimated how much of a difference this makes. It's not that the library is just recorded with loud dynamics, it's that loud dynamics sound completely different. Or any other alternatives for a loud library?Īs others have pointed out nothing else sounds like Ark 1 currently. How about for example Sonuscore's Orchestra Complete? It sounds rough and in addition has this engine part which could be useful.

I think Jaeger could do that, but its as pricey as Ark AND it needs full Kontakt. I'm looking for loud and "rough" sound to give some boost into my compositions. So are there alternatives for Ark 1? I already own Nucleus Orchestral Core and while it is a good library, it really isn't fulfilling the loudness needs especially in the low end (or I cannot use it properly, I really would appreciate hints on that!). I also only have Kontakt player, so I think I may need to invest into full kontakt at some point (though I seem to be eligible for crossgrading because I own certain libraries that allow this, but its still 250e extra cost). I also know that it is rarely on sale and at this moment I don't have the luxury of waiting for sales (unless there is going to be one within couple of weeks). What I understand is that Metropolis Ark 1 seems to be the de facto library for this use, but Ark 1 costs over 600 euros which is a little too much for me for now. What I seem to be lacking is some "loud" orchestral library to complement my arsenal. I've got limited monetary resources and I'm trying to avoid any unnecessary burning of money. Hi, I've recently tried to step my foot into trailer/cinematic genre from more electronic composing.
